It's so hard to figure out our real purpose in this fairly strange world when we are at the middle of great confusion about what do we really want to do with our life. Sometimes we’re lost. We feel aimless. At times, we just let things happen, for it is the easiest thing to do for the moment -- to simply stop worrying about what's going to happen tomorrow. It is so much easier to just enjoy the things we have today than to frantically think too much about what are the things waiting for us in the future. But this never prevent us from thinking about the possibilities and things that we should do or we should have done because we know, in any minute, our decisions, even in the smallest circumstances, could change our life forever.
At some point in our life, when we’re younger and more optimistic about everything, when our dreams are way better than our fears, we’ve once found that certainty about what we really want to do for the next years of our life. We’ve decided and we’re pretty sure that everything for us was already clear. We’ve listed every single thing that we want to have, every accomplishment we want to achieve, every people we want to meet, every place we want to go and take pictures of us with, and every possible dream that perhaps someday we could ever seize. We thought of living a life of a dream-come-true. But as we go on and years passed by, when things got harder, when changes and distasteful conditions came our way, we started to realize that life is not that easy at all. It’s not as simple as we thought it would be. It’s not like what we’ve read in our fairytale book or what we’ve watched in our favorite cartoon shows, when mornings were brighter and people were nicer. We looked back and realized that the hardest problems we have before like choosing what flavor of ice cream to eat or what game to play next when we’re kids were in fact life’s dreadful tricks to prepare us for a million times harder predicaments when we grow up. As the time run faster than we expect it to be, we’re starting to define LIFE as the complete opposite of what we thought it was. We learn things and we understand some pieces we never thought we would ever be affected with before.
Life is horrible, if we do not learn to live with its natural catastrophe. Life is beautiful, if we let our eyes truthfully see its obscured charm, if we manage to let our souls honestly feel its magnificence and simply enjoy it. Life is too complicated to be taken lightly, yet it’s also too wonderful to be taken roughly. Mistakes are tolerable, as long as we admit and correct it. Regrets are not necessary and we must not live with it. Fears are normal, but we must conquer it and never let it conquer us. Simplicity, love and contentment are keys to genuine happiness. Yes, life is hard, if we fail to understand it. And of course, life is easy, if we let it be. Our choices define us. Our actions prove it.
So, what is the real meaning of life? Simple. "Life is whatever we want it to be."
